Jump for Joy, Spring Has Arrived!

Just two days ago I was lamenting the cold weather, but what do you know? Spring weather has arrived!
It was warm enough today to actually enjoy being outside, even without a coat! My friends and I took full advantage with a trip to Spencer's coffee shop downtown. Spring weather, smoothies, and friends...the recipe for a perfect day!

Today was a wonderful day for reasons beyond the weather and company too. Good grades on tests, classes finishing early, free time. Ahh, just what I needed before the insanity of the weekend. Hope you all had as pleasant a Thursday as I did!

Spring weather continues to elude Kentucky. I'm dreaming of short pastel dresses but stuck in maroon and black, my winter uniform. Today has been a step in the right direction with snowfall finally stopping! Perhaps someday I will be able to bust out the floral minidresses, but until then...

A Much Needed Break

Sorry for the lack of posts of late. I've been busy, and not in a way I necessarily enjoy. Lots of homework, late nights, and sickness. I'll elaborate later, but it is finally Spring Break! 

I'm spending a low-key week in Lexington. I may be bored towards the end, but oh man I could use some time to relax. Hopefully that will also mean I have time to post on this blog!

Studio Sessions

It's been a low-key weekend so far, meaning I've been killing some time in the dance studios. I'm actually headed there now! Yesterday I thought I'd play around with capturing movement, in the hopes of one day being able to properly photograph dancers. Anyway, here are a few of the shots I got. Enjoy!

Studio Times - Domino

I've made a point of spending more time in the dance studio of late, just stretching and experimenting. Thursday night Jocelyn and I decided to work on tap and hip-hop for a bit, since we don't have a chance to work on those styles in class. We filmed a bit of Jessie J's "Domino," as seen below. It's super informal and not top-notch, but I had fun doing it! 

I'm hoping we'll keep playing around in the studio this semester. I'll try to post our progress so you all can see what I do with my life!

I awoke expecting a campus awash in pink and red. With hearts and flowers and candy everywhere. Alas, the majority of students were still in sweatpants, but I wore my red skirt and curls with pride!

But really, I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day full of hearts, chocolate, and love! I don't have a significant other, but I see V-Day as a way to celebrate my love for my family, friends, and life. And there was oh so much love this year!
