A Tiny Revolt

Outfit of the day! Pardon the image composition. There is no ideal place for photos in my dorm room.

Inspiration for the week: Matilda the Musical

In love with this show, particularly "Naughty":

Hope everyone had a lovely day! xo F

September 1st: Back to the Blog!

Once again I've been neglecting my blog. But it's September finally! For me, that means four significant things: 1. Autumn, 2. I'm going back to Hogwarts, 3. Doctor Who, 4. other season premieres! Along with the hope that I'll post more regularly. At the very least, I'll catch you up on what I've been doing over the summer in subsequent posts.

Let's start with the past 24 hours or so!

Accounting 200 Class

Tiger ring!

Here's what I look like now!

My oh-so-fancy dorm stove. No meal plans = more time spent in this tiny kitchen.

And incredibly gourmet meals...

My combat boots are still my favorite shoes...

...and Audrey Hepburn is still my idol. Some things never change.

I did discover Instagram since we last talked, friends. Username is fionaisabelle!

Preparing for the Doctor Who Season 7 premiere!

We also got a new puppy! His name is Moose.

Shadow and Lollipup are still here.

Tried Jones Pomegranate Soda for the first time today. Mixed feelings.

I came home for Labor Day weekend and found my dad canning peaches.

I learned many a trick, such as how to easily peel the skin off.

Gingerbread was a bit camera shy today.

Piglet, on the other hand, was not.

There's a glimpse into the past few days of my life! Hopefully I'll continue to post, but if I fail you again, you can always find me on Twitter, Pinterest, and Tumblr!

Hope all it well with you! xo F

Spring Forward

The snow has melted and Spring has come, albeit the weather's still a bit chilly. But the Spring weather, both rain and sun, put me in a far better mood yesterday, and the shopping that I did didn't hurt that!

Favorite stop? Street Scene, of course! Vintage heaven.
Here are a few of my lovely new (to me) purchases:

(Okay, this first one's a lie. I bought it at Goodwill awhile ago and haven't had a chance to wear it yet. I'm thinking leotard, character shoes, bowtie, top hat and cane for some Fred Astaire or Liza Minelli flair. Am I right?)

Simple but darling with those flags.

Square dancing skirt!

Gorgeous strapless maxi dress.

This one doesn't look like much but it has a low back making it fairly elegant and sweet. Plus only $5.
Not bad at all.

Again, this doesn't look like much on the hanger but it's adorable on! Very Spring.

This skirt just really makes me miss Hawaii.

Probably my favorite purchase. It's an old bathing suit! Not that I'll wear it to go swimming now, but it could be a gorgeous cover-up for my actual swimsuit, just belt it and go!

Too big for my wrist so I wear it on the bicep area and feel like Cleopatra. If only I'd dyed my hair black yesterday when I had the chance. Sigh...

The skirt I have on. Taking pictures solo + no tripod = no picture of the full skirt. It's just a breezy high-waisted floral piece. A little too Spring perhaps for how cold the wind is out there!

Spring Break is coming to a close, sadly. I feel as though I've wasted it, but what can I do. Back to school for another 8 weeks. Oh goddess, how will I survive? But perhaps there will be some antics for this blog...

Others said it must have been the weather...

Today it snowed.

Making it a perfect day for taking pictures...

...fostering puppies...

...and dancing to the music on Pandora.

There's also been quite a lot of thinking and daydreaming going on. Enough to ramble for a few more posts.

Onwards to the rambling!

In This Very Strange World

I've been gone. Apologies for that.

Stealing some inspiration from the lovely Anna Lee at thesquirrelnextdoor.blogspot.com/ and having a Music Monday of sorts. I've been listening to Pandora quite a bit the past few days to save myself from my incredibly boring Spring Break, hence why I'm finally posting.

Anyhow, a song that keeps popping up and that I adore is "New Soul" by Yael Naim. Simple, peaceful and truthful.

More Spring Break posting in a bit, but just wanted to share this lovely song while it's on my mind.

A Rare Glimpse

Well these are from a few weeks ago as I've (sadly) not worn anything worth reporting on here since. My lack of especially intriguing outfits stems from the fact that I have either dance class or rehearsal (or both) every weekday, meaning my clothing options are basically limited to fitness clothing. And I don't find fitness wear particularly exciting. That and I'd like to save my better outfits for a better body. Of course I say that as I stuff myself full of cake, but for a number of reasons I have to lose between 10 and 20 pounds as soon as is possible, so come Monday it is back to full out healthy eating and daily gym attendance. Wish me luck!

As for this outfit, one lovely Saturday I had absolutely nothing to do and therefore fancied a trip to the music building to do a little singing. I dressed myself up, as one always sings better when they look their best, and made the trek uphill. Once there, I discovered that the practice rooms had white walls and lighting that was useful for picture-taking. Hence these photos.

I'm hoping to add a dash more of Lola (from Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins) or Charlotte (from that book this blog was named after haha) back into my wardrobe. And assuming I can find a location and the time, that'll mean more updates on ye olde blog.
Oh and Halloween is coming up! Not that I have any concrete ideas, but trust that I will be in costume.
